November Update
ATTENTION RESIDENTS: there appears to be some person/s getting into unlocked vehicles and unlocked garages within the Village and the surrounding area. PLEASE LOCK ALL DOORS (house, vehicles, garages, sheds, etc).
The fire department will be open to check candy on halloween night.
The fire department has recently purchased 23 new radios through the help of a State Grant. The old radios were donated to the Mendon Riverfest Committee. The department has applied for another Grant with 911 agreeing to match it for the purchase of new mobile units for the vehicles. The new fire truck is here and has already been in action. The Village of Mendon upgraded the fire station with a new door and wiring to accomodate the new truck.
The police department is involved in a program called 'Cops for Keystone'. The Mendon Police have been challenged by the other law enforcement agencies in St. Joseph County to collect goods and raise money for the Keystone homeless shelter in Centreville. Please help the Police Department to show the rest of St. Joseph County that Mendon can step up to the challenge of helping others in need. Donations will be accepted at the Village Hall from now until April 11, 2009.
